Software Engineer Sr - Level 3

Lockheed Martin Space invites a Senior Software Engineer (Level 3) to join an Agile team delivering mission-ready software for space systems. The role centers on planning, sensor optimization, and satellite constellation management to advance space domain awareness and defense readiness in a future space environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate and simulate operational level plans to explore the art of the possible and how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war.
• Dynamically optimize terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness.
• Strategically optimize the placement and maneuvering of satellite constellations to satisfy multiple evolving priorities.

Requirements

• Experience designing and documenting microservice-based architectures.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software development using Javascript, HTML, Python, and/or C#.
• Understanding / proficiency in application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment.
• Strong Presentation Skills.
• No Clearance Required to Start but must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance (Must be a US Citizen).

Compensation

Salary: USD 93,200 - 164,450 per year.
