Specialist, Software Engineer (Cloud Developer)

The Specialist, Software Engineer (Cloud Developer) role supports mission-critical on-site work at Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, FL. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based applications using AWS while maintaining an active TS/SCI clearance.

Location and Work Setup

• Worksite: Patrick Space Force Base, FL (on-site)
• Job location: Melbourne, FL
• Schedule: 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked, with every other Friday off

Role Summary

In this position, you will apply cloud development experience in AWS to build robust applications and improve existing systems through cloud migration. The work is conducted in a high-side environment and requires ongoing alignment with security expectations supported by AWS best practices and services.

Responsibilities

• Use AWS cloud development experience to develop robust cloud-based applications.
• Migrate existing applications into a cloud-based architecture.
• Support scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness by applying AWS best practices and appropriate AWS services.
• Participate in daily customer interactions to understand requirements and deliver suitable cloud-based solutions.
• Create detailed documentation covering design, development, and deployment processes to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
• Adapt to support multiple mission areas, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to mission success.

Required Qualifications

• Education and experience: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Security training: DoD IAT Level II Certification (for example, Security+) must be obtained within 80 days of hire.

Education
