Job Description

Infamation Technologies Group LLC invites a Sr. Automation Controls Engineer to join onsite in Jacksonville, Florida. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive annual salary of $80,000 to $90,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package. You will lead technical teams through electrical control system design, coding, testing, and deployment for complex industrial equipment, covering PLC and HMI programming, panel design, startup, and post-installation support. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering and at least eight years of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical controls systems for complex industrial equipment and processes, including control of electrical, chemical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subsystems in line with applicable standards.
  • Program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, communication networks, and distributed I/O systems.
  • Create control panels, instrumentation panels, electrical drawings, P&IDs, and other detailed electrical documentation.
  • Develop PLC and HMI programs following internal modular standards to ensure consistency and high quality.
  • Act as the technical lead to coordinate engineering activities within the project team.
  • Inspect electrical control panels to verify correct design, assembly, and quality.
  • Perform pre-installation checkout of the overall controls solution, including panels, PLC/HMI, drives, SCADA, and other deliverables.
  • Provide startup services at customer facilities and ongoing post-installation support as required.
  • Assist in writing operator manuals, sequences of operations, and related documentation.
  • Create and update quality documentation to maintain best-in-class performance with customers.
  • Maintain daily timesheets and detailed expense and travel reports.
  • Support sales activities such as customer meetings, project takeoffs, BOM development, and feasibility studies.
  • Some travel to customer sites or project locations is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in controls, automation, SCADA, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, and Ignition platforms.
  • Siemens Automation certification is a plus.
  • Experience in process automation, including water/wastewater and pharma applications, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UL508, ISA, ISO, IEC, NFPA, and other industrial standards.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Authorized to work in the United States
