Job Description

Senior Civil Engineer with a focus on wastewater systems is based in Wilsonville, Oregon and offers hybrid work flexibility. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer with wastewater design expertise to lead design efforts, investigations, design documents, cost estimating, surveys, reports, and client or agency liaison. The position carries a salary range of USD 100,000 to 150,000 per year and requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering design for wastewater projects
  • Conduct site investigations and field inspections; develop comprehensive condition assessment reports
  • Prepare design documents including plans, specifications, and construction packages
  • Oversee cost estimating at all design phases from schematic to final
  • Coordinate upland and bathymetric surveys and geotechnical assessments
  • Develop design calculations, technical reports, and specifications
  • Provide design support and guidance to CAD technicians
  • Serve as liaison for client, contractor, and agency communications
  • Interpret field survey data and contribute to construction engineering and support

Requirements

  • Active Oregon Professional Engineer license required
  • Extensive experience in wastewater treatment system design
  • Proficiency in designing sewage pump and lift stations, including automation
  • Familiarity with UV disinfection and air diffuser systems
  • Strong ability to identify and resolve code deficiencies
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in civil wastewater design
  • Working knowledge of applicable civil codes and standards
  • Proven experience with hydraulic modeling/calculations
  • Proficient in preparing project plans, specs, and construction documents
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and analytical skills
  • Collaborative and respectful work ethic
