Sr Lead Software Engineer

The Sr Lead Software Engineer role is on the CDAO’s AI/ML Data Platform team at JPMorganChase, delivering trusted technology products with an emphasis on security, stability, and scalability. This position operates in an agile environment and provides technical guidance while building production code that supports product and operational decision-making.

Location and Work Setup

• Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)

Salary

• Base salary: USD 156,750 - 215,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and direction to support business needs and to partner effectively with technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code authored by others
• Drive decisions that affect product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Act as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more focus areas
• Contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide Software Development Life Cycle frameworks, tools, and practices
• Influence peers and project decision-makers on the adoption and application of leading-edge technologies
• Support a team culture grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Build and operate 24x7, tier-1 online services

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
• Strong core engineering skills, including hands-on coding and system design for modern enterprise systems
• Proficiency in one or more: Rust, Java, Go, C++
• Proven ability to build and operate 24/7, tier-1 online services
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Ability to address design and functionality challenges independently with little to no oversight
