Sr Lead Software Engineer - AI/ML
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to the business and its engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, production-grade code and review or debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of proven patterns within the SDLC and TLM toolchain.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value realized by automation at scale.
- Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes through strategic decisions.
- Act as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
- Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience (NAMR/APAC regions) and advanced certification for EMEA/LATAM-Brazil; Singapore guided by local requirements.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Python and one or more ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with data processing frameworks and tools (Spark, Pandas, SQL) and practical experience with cloud based ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, GCP AI Platform, Azure ML) or on premises ML infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD for ML, model versioning, and monitoring.
- Experience developing APIs and platform services for ML workflows.
- Proven ability to lead effective use of enterprise authorized AI assisted software development tools and set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers on compliant usage patterns and controls.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
