Sr Software Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and integrate sophisticated software within healthcare technology platforms, serving as a senior technical contributor and program team leader.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and integrate advanced software solutions within healthcare technology environments.
- Lead software architecture, requirements elicitation, technical design, coding, integration, testing, certification, verification, and validation activities.
- Act as a technical lead and subject matter expert for software development initiatives.
- Support feature definition and product development for new and existing healthcare applications.
- Lead proposals and technical solutions that address future business opportunities and process improvements.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align software solutions with organizational goals.
- Provide production support, troubleshooting, and customer support for assigned applications and platforms.
- Drive program and process changes, value engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure software solutions meet quality, compliance, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a healthcare payer environment, including claims, billing, enrollment, and care management teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software architecture, requirements analysis, design, and coding for healthcare products or healthcare technology systems.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Hands-on experience with .NET and C#.
- Experience with RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SSIS.
- Experience with SSRS.
- Hands-on experience with QNXT, a Cognizant-developed healthcare payer administration platform.
- Experience with systems that support claims, billing, enrollment, and/or care management, preferably within Medicaid and Medicare environments.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Experience with software configuration management and change management practices.
- Ability to code in multiple programming languages.
- Business-oriented approach to software development, balancing technical execution with business priorities.
- Recent healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay
Hourly rate: USD 60.00 - 70.00 per hour
