Sr Software Engineer
Job Description
VizyPay is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Mobile) to design and deliver the mobile version of VEXIS (iOS and Android) end to end.
Responsibilities
- Own mobile architecture, security, and performance for VEXIS across iOS and Android
- Lead native vs. cross-platform evaluation and publish recommendations, weighing cost, performance, maintainability, and alignment with VizyPay’s TypeScript/Angular engineering stack
- Define and enforce mobile engineering standards including project structure, state management, offline-first data, testing, and accessibility
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design reviews while contributing as an individual contributor
- Deliver in an Agile environment by collaborating with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, and other stakeholders across the software development lifecycle
- Align the mobile roadmap with platform architecture, security controls, and product roadmaps in partnership with Information Technology (Infrastructure & Security, Software Engineering)
- Design, develop, and maintain the VEXIS mobile app, including:
- API integration with backend services using REST and WebSockets
- Push notifications via APNs and FCM
- Offline-first synchronization
- A responsive, performant mobile user experience
- Build and operate mobile CI/CD and release management (example tooling: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, fastlane) including:
- Automated builds
- Code signing
- Store submission workflows through App Store Connect and Google Play Console
- Staged rollouts and release-health monitoring
- Implement automated testing across the mobile stack (example frameworks: XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Maestro) with quality gates
- Monitor crash and performance data (example tools: Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry) to drive root-cause resolution
- Implement secure-by-design mobile engineering aligned with PCI DSS and OWASP MASVS/MASTG, including:
- Secure storage using Keychain / Keystore
- Certificate pinning
- Secure token and session handling
- Least-privilege API access
- Partner with InfraSec on mobile threat modeling, logging, monitoring, and audit readiness
- Operate production releases under formal change management with audit-ready change records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience with strong mobile emphasis
- 3+ years shipping and operating production mobile applications distributed through:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
- Accountability for quality, performance, and outcomes for shipped mobile apps
- Certifications (preferred): Google Associate Android Developer (AAD), App Development with Swift Associate, App Development with Swift Certified User, or equivalent
- Experience in security- or compliance-constrained environments such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, or financial services regulation, delivered using formal SDLC and change management within Agile
- Ability to translate business and product requirements into shipped mobile capabilities with measurable outcomes, and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Production mobile platform expertise on iOS and Android, using:
- Native toolchains (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) and/or
- Cross-platform frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, Ionic/Capacitor
- Mobile testing experience across automated unit, UI, and end-to-end testing with quality gates (XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Maestro)
- Secure mobile engineering knowledge aligned with OWASP MASVS/MASTG, including secure storage (Keychain/Keystore), certificate pinning, and secure token/session handling
- Release engineering experience using App Store Connect and Google Play Console, including code signing, staged rollouts, and release management tooling such as fastlane
- CI/CD and tooling expertise with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions, plus strong Git fluency and development in VS Code or platform IDEs
- API integration experience with REST, real-time patterns such as WebSockets, efficient client-side caching, APNs/FCM push notifications, and offline-first synchronization
- Observability experience with crash and performance monitoring such as Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry, including release-health analysis
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals and computer science concepts applied to production codebases (data structures, algorithms, design patterns)
- Technical leadership track record through mentoring, code/design reviews, or ownership of engineering standards

Additional Experience (Preferred)
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated financial domain, or with CRM or field-workforce mobile products
- Experience with 0 to 1 mobile product establishment, including greenfield architecture, first store launch, and framework-selection ownership
- Angular/TypeScript familiarity (alignment with VizyPay’s frontend stack) or backend familiarity such as Node.js/NestJS and PostgreSQL to inform mobile data modeling
- Mobile accessibility standards, product analytics and experimentation, and feature flagging with progressive rollout strategies

- Location: Waukee, IA (onsite)
- Salary: USD 100,000 - 130,000 per yearly
