Sr. Software Engineer

Design, build, and support a high-quality video advertising platform for TV monetization as a senior software engineer in a virtual, hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; perform analysis to determine integration needs
• Design new software and web applications; support applications under development and customize existing applications
• Support software update processes for existing applications and participate in roll-outs of software releases
• Participate in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications
• Research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports
• Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to assigned projects
• Provide technical leadership across the design process, including guidance on practices, procedures, and techniques
• Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers
• Partner with Quality Assurance to determine whether applications fit specifications and technical requirements
• Apply engineering methodologies and specialty concepts, skills, and practices
• Apply process design and redesign skills; present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal audiences
• Use project management skills as part of delivery and execution
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance
• Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or above
• 3 years or above relevant work experience
• Experience with C/C++, DB design, and network programming
• Experience with distributed system software design and mission-critical systems
• Familiarity with Open RTB protocol (plus)
• Advertising industry experience (plus)
• Demonstrated problem-solving and technical innovation
• Strong passion for learning and practicing new techniques
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and software engineering methodology
• Ability to work closely with global teams and accept additional working times beyond normal hours to meet or co-work with global teams

Salary and Application Details

• Estimated salary range: USD 141,850 - 212,776 per year
• Virginia pay range: $141,850.78 - $212,776.16
• Comcast intends to offer base pay within this range based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience
• Application window: 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later
• Base pay is part of Total Rewards; Comcast provides best-in-class Benefits to eligible employees
• Most non-sales roles may be eligible for a Bonus under applicable plans
