Staff iOS Developer Experience Engineer

Join Salesforce as a Staff iOS Developer Experience (DevXP) Engineer in San Francisco to help build durable, AI-powered developer tooling for the Slack iOS app. In this role, you will improve iOS development workflows and automated testing while pioneering an agentic software development lifecycle to accelerate delivery quality and stability.

Role Focus

You will develop and evolve developer tooling used by Slack engineering teams to move faster on complex issues. The scope includes next-generation iOS workflows, intelligent automation for testing and pipeline health, and technical leadership across Slack’s iOS codebase.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, sustainable, AI-powered developer tooling for the Slack iOS app, used by millions of people daily
• Pioneer an agentic software development lifecycle (Agentic SDLC) to help Slack feature engineers address complicated problems more quickly
• Create next-generation developer workflows and intelligent agents to make iOS development best-in-class at Slack
• Lead other engineers and mentor iOS teams as development becomes increasingly AI-assisted
• Set a high bar for technical design and code quality across the team
• Demonstrate ownership that extends beyond a single team area to the wider Slack iOS codebase
• Debug complex Bazel cache misses and coordinate AI agent auto-triage for broken CI pipelines
• Monitor and improve KPIs including CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build-time metrics using intelligent automation to proactively identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and maintaining complex iOS tooling from CI to CD
• Deep expertise with Swift, Bazel, Python, and Xcode tools
• Hands-on experience with Agentic SDLC workflows, including using and integrating AI coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Workspace, or custom LLM scripts to automate PR generation, code reviews, and boilerplate refactoring
• Ability to monitor and improve KPIs such as CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build time metrics through intelligent automation
• Deep familiarity with the Apple ecosystem, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and scripting (Python/bash/etc.)

Additional Qualifications

Compensation and Location

• Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 197,300 - 344,700 per year
