Tooling Desing Engineer
Job Description
Based onsite in Springfield, Ohio, The Champion GSE seeks a Tooling Design Engineer to lead CAD based design of tools, dies, molds, and fixtures, along with testing, project management, and process optimization in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. The position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year and requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with at least three years of tooling design experience.
Responsibilities
This role emphasizes end to end tooling design activities from concept through validation, coordinating with cross functional teams to ensure specifications are met and schedules are adhered to.
- Develop detailed CAD based designs for tooling components including tools, dies, molds, and fixtures.
- Perform tests and simulations to assess design performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Lead tooling projects from initial concept through implementation, ensuring on time delivery and conformity to requirements.
- Improve existing tools and processes to raise productivity and reduce production costs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of designs, specifications, and testing results to support ISO 9001 compliance.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and brings practical tooling design experience. A minimum of three years in tooling design is expected, with demonstrated proficiency in CAD software and a solid grasp of manufacturing processes and materials.
