Translational AI Engineer | Biomedical Informatics Specialist
Job Description
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking a Translational AI Engineer and Biomedical Informatics Specialist to strengthen the Biomedical Informatics component for the Children’s Foundation Research Institute (CFRI). In this onsite Memphis, TN role, you will support research by transforming and enhancing informatics technologies, translating researcher needs into practical technical designs and informatics solutions.
The position focuses on developing software and data storage capabilities alongside translational science technologies, with an emphasis on documenting solutions and supporting systems that advance research objectives.
What you’ll do
- Utilize and implement software and design practices to document biomedical informatics solutions supporting a wide range of informatics and research.
- Work directly with researchers to analyze and translate needs into technical designs and informatics solutions.
- Lead efforts to support biomedical informatics systems through effective project management, presentation, communication, and organization practices.
- Lead efforts to support and advance research objectives through biomedical informatics systems.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree Biostatistics (Required)
- Informatics technologies: 1-3 years (Required)
- Knowledge of preparing peer review articles.
- Experience using web development technologies, web-scripting, and object-oriented languages such as PHP, C#, SQL, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, XML, HTML5, and Web services.
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, plus version control software and continuous integration software.
- Familiarity with a Data Management System (e.g., REDCap, OpenClinica).
- Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing applications for higher education or biomedical environments and general purpose visual analytic tools for visually browsing and arranging large data sets for research.
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, analyze data to produce publications and instructional materials, and communicate findings through presentations and articles.

Physical demands
