Welding Engineer

The Welding Engineer Sales Specialist role blends welding engineering expertise with customer-focused sales activities to identify client needs, provide strategic guidance, and coordinate materials and testing services in support of client requirements at Triangle Engineering Inc.

Overview

This position drives the sales cycle for a manufacturer of metal products, industrial equipment, and testing services by applying technical welding knowledge to translate customer requirements into actionable orders and testing programs. The role requires interpreting welding codes, coordinating both internal and external testing, and maintaining thorough documentation to ensure quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer requests for materials, equipment, and weld testing services.
• Consult with clients to clarify the scope and specifics of each order.
• Review welding codes including ASME IX, AWS, and API to determine weld qualification criteria.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and process orders, including purchase orders for materials and services.
• Coordinate testing service orders with in-house laboratories and external testing facilities.
• Compile test reports and related documentation upon completion of testing services.
• Maintain calibration requirements for laboratory equipment.
• Keep quality records to ensure traceability and compliance.

Requirements

• Proven sales experience in manufacturing, construction, or welding sectors, with credentials such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Welding Engineer, Weld Operations Manager, Metallurgist, or similar roles.
• Proficient in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills and strong computer proficiency.
• Well organized, highly motivated, and dependable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant sales role.
