Job Description

This OSP Engineer position supports the design, development, and management of outside plant network infrastructure for Butler America Telecom. The role leads field surveys, engineering planning, and project coordination to ensure on time delivery and regulatory compliance.

Location

Akron, OH (onsite)

Compensation

USD 50,174 - 100,000 per year

Responsibilities

Design and implement outside plant (OSP) network infrastructure including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cables.
Conduct field surveys, site walks, and feasibility assessments to determine optimal routing for network deployments.
Prepare and review engineering plans, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
Oversee construction schedules, budgets, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and contractors to achieve project milestones.
Perform quality checks to ensure all OSP installations meet company and client standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in OSP engineering with Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other OSP design software.
Strong understanding of permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
