Job Description

Garver is expanding its water and wastewater capabilities and seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join the team on site in Amarillo, Texas. The role focuses on designing water and wastewater facilities and generating the accompanying reports, studies, technical memoranda, plans, details, and specifications under the direction of a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

Design a range of water and wastewater projects, including water conveyance and distribution (pump stations and storage facilities), wastewater conveyance and collection (pumping/lift stations and force mains), water and wastewater treatment plants, improvements and retrofits of existing facilities, and master planning for water, wastewater, and reuse.
Prepare reports, studies, technical memoranda, plans, details, and specifications.
Collaborate with clients to ensure service expectations are exceeded.
Work within a multidisciplinary design team led by a Project Manager, alongside other engineers and CAD technicians.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil, biological, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Two or more years of experience related to the design of municipal water/wastewater conveyance and/or treatment systems
Engineers-in-Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain within six months

Xcel Energy seeks a Substation Engineer in its Transmission Asset Management group for the Texas and New Mexico region. Based in Amarillo, TX, this hybrid role requires three days in the office and two days remote. The entry level supports evaluating aging substation infrastructure, developing renewal, refurbishment, and replacement projects, with opportunities to advance to staff, senior, or principal levels. Responsibilities

Compensation and Levels

The role encompasses four engineering levels with corresponding salary ranges and minimum requirements:

Entry Engineer Level — USD 70,000 to 88,667 per year. Minimum: ABET-accredited engineering degree; electrical engineering degree preferred; 0+ years of relevant experience; EIT/FE preferred.
Staff Engineer Level — USD 81,000 to 106,267 per year. Minimum: ABET-accredited engineering degree; electrical engineering degree preferred; 2+ years of relevant experience; EIT/FE strongly preferred.
Senior Engineer Level — USD 97,000 to 129,267 per year. Minimum: ABET-accredited engineering degree; electrical engineering degree preferred; 5+ years of relevant experience with EIT/FE required; 7+ years without EIT/FE; PE registration may be required depending on business need.

Job Description

System Engineer and Technical Authority responsible for a designated fire protection system at Pantex, Amarillo, TX onsite, coordinating configuration management, assessing system health, and ensuring operability and maintenance while supporting compliance, design, and on‑call activities.

Review and maintain designs for the fire pump house, distribution mains, risers, alarms, sprinklers, and penetration seals/barriers.
Apply NFPA and related industrial codes and standards in design and maintenance of these systems.

Requirements

PhD degree in engineering or a related science discipline
DOE O 426.2A requirements apply, including a baccalaureate in engineering or related science with two years of job related experience and at least one year of nuclear experience, or an approved DOE O 426.2A alternative
