The Technical Support Engineer role at Booz Allen focuses on maintaining and operating a network of simulators and modeling capabilities for rehearsal and exercise training, troubleshooting, and supporting live, virtual, and constructive training environments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and operate a distributed network of simulators and modeling tools to enable rehearsal and exercise capabilities for multiple units.
- Administer the network, sustain the Authority to Operate, and optimize system design and architecture.
- Provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 troubleshooting during live operations.
- Install and configure hardware components as needed.
- Manage equipment and software lifecycles across the environment.
- Coordinate software releases, deployments, and feature enhancements to drive innovation.
- Run daily operational checks on local air and ground simulation systems and several outstation systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on simulators and related systems.
- Support training activities in live, virtual, and constructive environments.
- Develop configuration management processes to keep geographically distributed systems current with training requirements.
- Operate the virtual environment to support large-scale training exercises.
- Identify, document, and track deficiencies to improve overall system functionality.
- Build and install new simulators and networks.
- Collaborate on an Agile Scrum team with daily communications.
- Troubleshoot effectively and adapt to changing day-to-day tasks.
- Explore growth opportunities and innovating within the simulation program.
Requirements
- Experience with complex distributed networked systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting and collaborating with DoD operational personnel.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with basic network and operating systems.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation.
- Willingness to travel up to 20 percent of the time.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelorβs degree with 1+ years of Tier 1 technical support experience, or 5+ years of Tier 1 support in lieu of degree.
- Security+ certification.

Clearance

Compensation
Salary is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The typical annualized range is USD 69,400 to USD 158,000.
