Technical Support Engineer
Job Description
Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Technical Support Engineer to sustain and operate a network of simulators and modeling tools that deliver rehearsal and exercise capabilities for military units. Working within an Agile team, you will enable robust operational training for warfighters by maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting complex simulation systems on site at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a distributed network of simulators and modeling tools to support unit rehearsal and exercise activities.
- Oversee network operations, maintain Authority to Operate (ATO), refine system design and architecture, perform Tier 1–3 troubleshooting during operations, manage hardware installs and lifecycle tasks, handle software releases and deployments, implement new features, and pursue innovative improvements.
- Train and assist warfighters as part of a versatile team delivering robust operational training.
- Conduct daily operational checks of local air and ground simulation systems and multiple outstation systems.
- Execute preventative maintenance on simulators and related systems.
- Support training in live, virtual, and constructive environments.
- Develop configuration management processes to keep geographically separated systems aligned with current training requirements.
- Operate the virtual environment to enable large-scale training exercises.
- Identify and track deficiencies to improve overall system functionality.
- Build and install new simulators and networks.
- Participate in an Agile Scrum team, maintain daily communication, troubleshoot effectively, and adapt to changing day-to-day tasks.
- Identify opportunities for growth and innovation across simulation systems.
Requirements
- Experience with complex networked distributed systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting and collaborating with DoD operational personnel.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with basic network and operating systems.
- Capability to create technical documentation.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of Tier 1 technical support experience, or 5+ years of Tier 1 technical support in lieu of a degree.
- Security+ Certification.

Compensation
Salary is listed as USD 69,400 to 158,000 per year. The posted range reflects typical compensation for this role, with actual pay determined by factors including location, education, experience, and contract requirements. This listing will close within 90 days from the posting date.
