Job Description

Solano Automation Solutions, Inc. invites applications for a Lead Control Systems Engineer in Vacaville, California on a hybrid work arrangement. The role centers on guiding automation initiatives from concept to commissioning, interfacing with clients to define requirements, and mentoring engineers while delivering PLC and HMI based automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead automation projects across the full lifecycle, contributing as a team member and, when needed, taking technical ownership of one or more projects.
Engage with clients to capture automation requirements and translate them into effective control solutions.
Establish and maintain client relationships while mentoring less experienced engineers.
Direct projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with scope.
Utilize strong knowledge of PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI systems (Rockwell, Wonderware, Proficy) with clear and collaborative communication.
Perform design and engineering tasks for systems of varying complexity.
Prepare scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates for small projects.
Develop detailed control system electrical design packages when appropriate.
Create high-quality, reliable industrial software programs in accordance with project requirements.
Coordinate design activities with other members of the project team.

Maintain positive client relationships on assigned projects.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Five plus years of experience as an Automation Engineer, with preference for candidates who have led projects.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with extensive hands-on PLC and HMI programming experience.
Understanding of control system networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and related technologies.
Instrumentation experience is preferred.
Industrial background across multiple sectors is a plus, with emphasis on food, chemical, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Available for regional travel.

Job Description

Aequor Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join the Utilities team at the Vacaville, CA site. This onsite contract position focuses on electrical design, project management, and technical leadership across a 24/7 manufacturing facility. The six-month engagement, paid at $58.00 per hour, offers the opportunity to influence electrical designs, support field implementations, and drive energy conservation initiatives within a regulated industrial environment. The role is based at Vacaville, CA 95688.

Position Details

Responsibilities

Perform detailed designs for small to mid-scale projects, including drawing mark-ups, load calculations, coordination studies, short circuit calculations, voltage drop calculations, equipment specifications, and ensure compliance with company standards and applicable codes.
Lead design reviews for large projects to confirm system compatibility, conformance, and constructability.
Provide field inspection and support for electrical, security, fire alarm, data/telecom, and instrument/control installations.
Review electrical power, security, fire alarm, and instrument/control drawings for accuracy and compliance.
Identify, scope, and manage energy conservation projects.
Troubleshoot power quality problems in support of the maintenance group and JLL.
Lead project engineering and management for electrical projects and select non-electrical work as needed.
Provide technical support for the maintenance group on electrical related operational issues.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on utility bottlenecks and corrective action solutions.
Provide technical support for SHE on permit applications.
Review and approve changes to Vacaville electrical drawings and related documentation.
Review and approve Change Records impacting validated electrical systems.
Not required but preferred.
