AI Engineer
Job Description
PwC is seeking an AI Engineer to translate data, algorithms, and software engineering into scalable AI and ML solutions within Internal Firm Services. This onsite role in New York, NY emphasizes designing AI systems, data wrangling, and building data pipelines to enable production-grade AI models.
Compensation
Salary: USD 50,500 to USD 112,500 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy AI systems that convert raw data into actionable insights.
- Build scalable machine learning models using Python and TensorFlow.
- Merge data from multiple sources to establish unified analytic views.
- Create and maintain data pipelines to support AI model deployment.
- Apply advanced data analysis techniques to identify patterns and trends.
- Collaborate with colleagues to refine AI solutions and support business growth.
- Apply NLP tools such as NLTK for text analytics and sentiment analysis.
- Implement neural networks and deep learning methods for advanced AI use cases.
- Manage data quality and infrastructure to ensure reliable AI operations.
- Commit to ongoing learning to adopt new AI technologies and methods.
- Build and orchestrate AI agent workflows with frameworks like LangGraph to automate multi-step reasoning, integrate tools and APIs, and deliver scalable, context-aware solutions.
- Apply generative AI techniques, including prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, and fine-tuning, to develop production-grade applications powered by foundation models.
- Develop automated evaluation frameworks such as LLM-as-judge pipelines, regression testing, and adversarial benchmarking to assess reasoning, tool-calling reliability, and output groundedness.
- Optimize open-weight language models, including LLaMA, Mistral, and Gemma, for local and cloud deployment using quantization, inference acceleration, and model-routing techniques.
- Design agent harnesses and implement context engineering, memory management, retry logic, and structured output validation to support reliable, multi-step AI workflows.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Python and TensorFlow on AI projects.
- Utilize Scikit-Learn for data analysis.
- Engage in complex data analysis and pattern recognition tasks.
- Implement AI solutions using open-source software.
- Apply natural language processing techniques in real world applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required. If no degree, to compensate for missing college years, provide three years of specialized AI and machine learning training or progressively responsible AI/ML engineering work experience for each missing year, in addition to meeting the minimum experience requirement.
