Job Description

As an Analytics Engineer at Cox Automotive, you will develop and sustain data assets, BI infrastructure, and analytics pipelines to monitor product metrics and support data driven decisions through cross functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross functional teams to drive data informed decisions for growth and optimization.
  • Create and maintain foundational assets such as a Data Dictionary and a Query Repository; collaborate with stakeholders to optimize these assets.
  • Translate analysts' metrics and use cases into data asset development, coordinating with data scrum teams; optimize assets with a focus on runtime performance.
  • Develop and maintain data models using dbt and SQL based transformations deployed to Snowflake; manage the lifecycle from intake to production deployment.
  • Engage in version controlled development workflows with GitHub, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD for reliable deployments.
  • Maintain data lineages documenting metrics, queries, and data sources; proactively improve documentation for easier updates and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to semantic layer documentation and metadata to enable AI analytics tools to interpret natural language queries against business data.
  • Develop and sustain anomaly detection and alerting for data assets; refine detection methods and thresholds.
  • Apply advanced analytics with analysts to identify root causes of data anomaly alerts.
  • Administer analytics tool access with limited supervision.
  • Support BI tool strategy projects by optimizing platforms to align with analytics needs.
  • Maintain and optimize technologies that enable the analytics practice, including SharePoint, operational insights, and various automation efforts.
  • Leverage AI and GenAI applications to augment tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and accelerate analytics deliverables.
  • Learn and apply analytics technologies; collaborate with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Support Analytics Leads on company initiatives; may lead project execution with an aligned plan.
  • Guide other analysts on advanced techniques and validate their work.
  • Define priorities with leadership and deliver against business goals, independently and with cross functional teams.
  • Operate with limited oversight and proactively optimize existing solutions.
  • Travel up to 5 percent for same day or overnight business trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future; no OPT, CPT, STEM OPT or visa sponsorship.
  • Live within a commutable distance to the Atlanta office.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience, or 18 years related experience.
  • Strong SQL programming skills with solid knowledge of SQL based relational databases; experience with ETL processing of big data.
  • 6+ years experience with SQL based relational databases (e.g., Athena, Redshift, Snowflake); Snowflake preferred.
  • 6+ years experience with BI tools (Power BI, Domo, Tableau).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Web analytics knowledge (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) highly preferred.
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt, including model development, testing, and documentation preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (GitHub) and CI/CD workflows for data pipeline deployment.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Snowflake data platform capabilities, including Cortex AI features for semantic layer and natural language analytics.
  • Experience with AI / GenAI applications to augment development work, including AI assisted tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) for accelerating data engineering and analytics tasks.
  • Ability to learn and use AI / GenAI capabilities as part of analytics operations, including large language models for code generation, documentation, data quality analysis, and automation.
  • Experience in machine learning or automation related to anomaly detection, thresholds, or natural language generation is a plus.
  • Tableau Server certification or AWS Data Analytics certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work directly with vendors to resolve issues and drive technological advancements on long term projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams; proactive stakeholder consultation for outcomes.
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and provide proactive solutions that strengthen partnerships.
  • Capability to develop scalable processes and standards that improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present findings clearly and concisely and translate analytics concepts into a compelling narrative.
  • Creative problem solving with a data driven approach; ability to challenge assumptions and validate hypotheses.
  • Ability to translate requests into actionable tasks with clear timelines.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a deadline driven, evolving environment; flexible and agile.
  • Proactive, self motivated with curiosity to continuously learn about the digital and automotive landscape.

Compensation

  • USD 101,500.00 - 169,100.00 per year
  • Base salary within this range may vary by location and candidate qualifications; eligible for potential incentive programs.
