Job Description
Design and deliver API-driven ingestion, AWS-hosted reporting, and Snowflake-based compliance data workflows for DASH within Cox Automotive’s Continuous Control Monitoring platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate API-based ingestion pipelines that retrieve data from security and cloud platforms, including authentication, pagination, rate limit handling, incremental loads, and schema change resilience.
- Build and maintain a full-stack AWS reporting application with front end, API layer, and supporting infrastructure, focused on performance, access control, and usability.
- Create self-service tools so engineering teams can work directly with CCM data (for example, suppressions and exceptions, plus automated notifications).
- Develop and maintain Snowflake models, writing well-tested SQL to support controls, scoring, and trend reporting.
- Help expand the platform by contributing new compliance controls and reporting domains as coverage grows across additional security domains.
- Define and evolve infrastructure using infrastructure as code, and ship changes through GitHub Actions pipelines with automated testing, environment promotion, and secure release practices.
- Produce clear specifications and documentation, and use AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day work.
- Collaborate with security, IAM, cloud, and engineering stakeholders to translate data needs into working features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Alternative qualifying combinations may include master’s degree with up to 2 years experience, or 14 years experience in a related field.
- 2+ years experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a combination.
- Strong Python skills, including building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience building web applications using a modern front-end framework with a backend API layer.
- Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Strong SQL and experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
- Comfort working with Git-based workflows and CI/CD, ideally GitHub Actions.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems, break them down, and deliver incrementally.
- Clear written communication, including explaining technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
