AppSec Sales Engineer

Harness.io is hiring an AppSec Sales Engineer for a Dallas, TX (remote) role focused on connecting sales conversations with deep technical clarity. In this position, you will support evaluations and adoption of Harness's AI-Native DevSecOps platform for executive, business, and technical audiences, with an emphasis on application and AI security outcomes.

The role serves as a technical liaison across stakeholder groups, helping customers understand how Application Security Testing and Runtime Protection fit into an end-to-end DevSecOps pipeline. You will help drive complex technical engagements, including workshops and POVs, as teams assess how to secure the SDLC from code to operations, including API and AI workflows.

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform presentations and demos centered on Application Security Testing and Runtime Protection within the broader DevSecOps landscape.
• Educate stakeholders on the benefits of the Harness AI-Native DevSecOps platform, including AppSec and API/AI Security capabilities such as SCA, SAST, DAST, and runtime protection.
• Translate business security risks and compliance challenges into technical solutions across the end-to-end DevSecOps pipeline.
• Lead technical engagements such as workshops and POVs to demonstrate value in securing the SDLC from code through operations, including API and AI workflows.

Requirements

• Experience delivering product demonstrations that help customers eliminate security debt for developed software and mitigate emerging API and AI risks.
• Background as a Pre-Sales Engineer supporting SaaS/software sales in DevSecOps or Cybersecurity, or strong practitioner experience with the software evaluation and buying process.
• Hands-on experience with modern application security practices and tools, including API Security, AI Security, SAST, DAST, SCA, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of cloud-native application security and the security risks tied to the integration of GenAI.
• Ability to stay current on developments in AI security, software supply chain security, and evolving threat landscapes.
• Capability to communicate complex customer security requirements and feature requests to Engineering.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, including on short notice, for customer engagements, internal meetings, or trade shows and conferences.

Pay transparency: $182,000 - $218,000 USD per year.
