Job Description

Northrop Grumman seeks an Associate Simulation Software Engineer or Simulation Software Engineer to design, develop, and validate cloud based solutions and deployment pipelines for hosting simulation software and related infrastructure. The role is onsite in Oklahoma City, OK, with potential placement in Melbourne, FL as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, building, and maintaining automated cloud environments using infrastructure as code and configuration management tools.
  • Develop, modify, and sustain pipelines to deploy cloud infrastructure and associated services, following engineering best practices across the full lifecycle.
  • Participate in integration testing, formal system testing, releases, installation, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams to deliver software products across multiple software baselines.
  • Interface with customers on occasion; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field and 0 years of related engineering experience.
  • A STEM bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 2 years of software engineering experience, or a STEM master’s degree with 0 years of software engineering experience, or a STEM PhD with 0 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with at least one of the following languages or scripting languages: C, C++, or Python.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or higher security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance prior to the start of employment.

Accomplish

This position offers the opportunity to directly design, develop, and test cloud based solutions that enable a software development environment and host simulation software and infrastructure. It includes installing, configuring, and testing software through pipeline automation.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Simulation Software Engineer (Level 1)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field with 0 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with at least one of the following languages: C, C++, or Python.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance prior to employment.

Basic Qualifications for a Simulation Software Engineer (Level 2)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of software engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of software engineering experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with at least one of the following languages: C, C++, or Python.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications for Both a Level 1 and Level 2 Software Engineer

  • Strong understanding of C and C++ including templates, memory management, and compiler/linker behavior.
  • Experience with two or more of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Gitlab, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity.
  • Familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Knowledge of Joint Simulation Environment, Distributed Interactive Simulation, or High-Level Architecture frameworks.
  • Experience with Full-Motion Flight Training Systems.
  • Experience with simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or NGTS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts and tools such as Gitlab, Bamboo, or Jenkins.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.

Salary Ranges

Primary level: $62,300.00 to $98,800.00

Secondary level: $75,100.00 to $118,900.00
