Associate Software Engineer - Developers

At Boeing, the Associate Software Engineer - Developers role sits within the B-52J CERP - Flight Software team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This onsite position supports non-embedded flight software engineering activities, spanning design, development, testing, maintenance, and the development of software tools within an agile environment.

In this role, you will help teams translate customer requirements into initial software designs, contribute to software product development and optimization for systems integrations, and support debugging efforts to maintain reliability and efficiency. You will also support software research and development documentation, along with software project management and supplier performance tracking to support compliance with project plans and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of non-embedded software across the end-to-end lifecycle to meet industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
• Assist with reviewing, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into initial software product designs
• Support development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations
• Support development, documentation, and maintenance of software product architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
• Assist with debugging and issue resolution to maintain reliability and efficiency of software products
• Participate in handling user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and analyzing user feedback
• Support implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and software-development regulation changes
• Support development, establishment, monitoring, and improvement of software processes, tools, and key performance metrics aligned to project and organizational goals
• Support execution and documentation of software research and development project work
• Assist with software project management activities and software supplier management functions
• Support tracking and evaluation of software team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with product and process requirements, project plans, and industry standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline
• 1+ years of experience in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or ADA
• 1+ years of experience in SAFE Agile and/or GitLab

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields
• 1+ years of experience in building Docker Images and working with GitLab, CI/CD Pipeline, VXWorks Workbench, Git, and VSCode Devcontainers
• Experience with ADA programming language preferred
• Experience with host environments, including processors, operating systems, and networks; ability to build, integrate, and troubleshoot software components
• Experience with software programming languages and databases, and applying them to the software domain
• Experience with software architecture and design methodologies
• Experience in software development processes aligned to established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices for development, testing, and deployment

• Salary range: USD 92,650 - 125,350 per year
