Capital Projects Engineer

Long term contract project engineer role overseeing capital equipment upgrades in a manufacturing plant, onsite in Louisville, KY.

Responsibilities

• Operate as the project engineer on a long-term contract for capital equipment upgrades and plant improvements, providing design leadership, bid management, and oversight of an annual project program worth $4-5 million.
• Conceive and direct project designs across a broad spectrum and lead external design teams on larger initiatives.
• Solicit bids and establish pricing for services and bill of materials items.
• Prepare project submittal documents and scope of work for process equipment including reactors; perform cost-savings calculations; define project scopes, risks, assumptions, and alternatives.
• Utilize project management and scheduling software to track progress and milestones.
• Manage at least $4-5 million in project volume per year while concurrently handling multiple initiatives.

Requirements

• BS in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing capital projects for process plant equipment, with food or beverage experience preferred.
• Experience in P&IDs, storage tanks, pumps, and other chemical process equipment preferred.
• Proven experience in capital project engineering including bids/pricing, scope of work, risks, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and close-out.
