Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a fully remote Data Engineer to maintain reliable data warehouse operations, expand scalable data pipelines, and integrate data across systems to support reporting and analytics. This role emphasizes data quality, scalable processing, and collaboration with cross functional teams to deliver data solutions that align with business priorities. The position is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and offers a salary range of USD 120,000 - 130,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the data warehouse, ensuring stable performance and access to trusted data.
  • Design, construct, and optimize data pipelines that move and transform data across multiple platforms.
  • Develop scalable engineering solutions using Python, Apache Spark, and Databricks to support large-scale data processing and analytics workloads.
  • Create and maintain SQL data structures and workflows to enhance data quality, usability, and consistency.
  • Apply solid data modeling practices to organize datasets for reporting, analysis, and downstream applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration needs and deliver scalable data solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Support cloud-based data movement and orchestration, including work involving Azure Data Factory when needed.
  • Prepare well-structured datasets to enable reporting and visualization in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Demonstrate a strong background in SQL and data warehouse support, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Provide practical experience with Apache Spark and Azure Databricks for distributed data processing.
  • Show understanding of data modeling concepts and the ability to structure datasets for analytics.
  • Maintain working knowledge of visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Operate within Azure-based data ecosystems with experience in Microsoft SQL technologies.
  • Exposure to C# is beneficial but not required.

Requirements

  • Extensive data engineering experience with strong hands-on Python in production environments.
  • Solid background in SQL and data warehouse support, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Practical experience with Apache Spark and Azure Databricks for distributed data processing.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and the ability to structure datasets for analytical use.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data integration tools, including exposure to Azure Data Factory.
  • Working knowledge of visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL technologies and comfort operating within Azure-based data ecosystems.
  • Exposure to C# is beneficial but not required.
