Data Engineer

DCI Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Washington, DC team. The role centers on data integration, transformation, and Spark-based data workflows, building applications that support operational decisions within a cross-functional environment. This onsite position offers strong compensation and the chance to contribute across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Join a cross-functional team as a Data Engineer to tackle critical problems
• Integrate data sources, transform insights, and develop first-class applications for operational decisions
• Set up data feed transfers from source systems to designated locations
• Develop transformations and derive new datasets using Spark for distributed computation
• Monitor build progress and troubleshoot build issues
• Design applications that address key operational questions
• Handle information requests (RFIs) related to the platform’s data footprint
• Iterate with product teams while debugging and understanding the code behind the core platform

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science / Engineering (or related field) preferred
• 3+ years of experience with data transformation
• 3+ years of experience with data engineering
• 3+ years of experience with software engineering
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, and/or Pandas
• Extensive experience coding in Python
• Extensive experience coding in Java
• Extensive experience coding in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures as they pertain to development and problem solving
• Experience with Foundry preferred
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required
