Job Description

Bring your data engineering skills to CVS Health and help build modern data solutions that support how healthcare is delivered. This onsite role in Phoenix, AZ focuses on designing, integrating, and implementing data capabilities that power payer data processing into the Data Warehouse, including support for cloud migrations.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver high quality, modern data solutions by collaborating with engineering, analysts, data scientists, and product teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Design, integrate, and implement on-premise solutions while also supporting migrations of existing workloads to the cloud.
  • Own the processing of payer files into the Data Warehouse.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to reimagining how healthcare is provided through collaboration and execution using cutting-edge technology.
  • Support data engineering services across on-prem and cloud environments, including dimensional modeling and schema design.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and apply performance improvement techniques to support reliable, efficient data processing.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, best practices, and take ownership in a team-based support environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with SQL and relational database management systems
  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud Data Engineering Platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake
  • 2+ years of experience with on-prem Data Engineering Platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata
  • Programming and modifying code in SQL, Python, and PySpark to support and implement cloud-based and on-prem data warehousing services
  • Hands-on experience with dimensional data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting data issues
  • Hands-on experience with performance improvement techniques
  • Willingness to identify and implement process improvements and best practices, with the ability to take ownership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering. Minimum experience: 4 years.

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with healthcare data and healthcare insurance feeds

Compensation and schedule

Estimated pay range: USD 64,890 - 173,040 per year. Typical pay range for this role is: $64,890.00 - $173,040.00.

Anticipated weekly hours: 40. Time type: Full time. Onsite location: Phoenix, AZ.
