Job Description

Guidehouse is hiring a Data Engineer & Automation Developer to build automated, data-driven workflows and integrations across Python and Databricks, plus Power Platform solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Apply strong technical skills and a mission-focused mindset to understand client needs, identify opportunities, and design data-driven solutions
  • Use Python and Databricks to create and maintain automated workflows that catalog data via APIs, ingest and transform data from multiple sources and file types
  • Create and maintain authentication workbooks that enable connections from data sources to cataloging tools
  • Build and maintain solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps
  • Communicate clearly to translate technical findings for both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
  • Engage directly with clients to gather requirements, adapt solutions to mission needs, and help drive initiatives forward

Requirements

  • Active and maintained “SECRET” Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, data science, data engineering, or data visualization
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated workflows using Python in Databricks to catalog data using APIs for ingest and transform across various sources and file types
  • Experience creating and maintaining authentication workbooks for connecting data sources to cataloging tools such as Alation
  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform and creating and maintaining Power Apps
  • Ability to support remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the Washington D.C. metro area

What Would Be Nice to Have

  • Three (3) or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience working in Databricks
  • Familiarity with Agile team operations, such as sprint planning, standup calls, writing Jira stories, and backlog refinement
  • Ability to work independently, proactively identify opportunities to add value, and drive initiatives and innovation
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present technical solutions, insights, and results to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
  • Experience performing data engineering, such as Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) and managing databases
  • Experience working in the Microsoft Power Platform and creating and maintaining Power Apps
  • Experience working with data cataloging and metadata
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Familiarity with Alation
  • Ability to support business development including RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses and white papers
  • Relevant experience supporting Department of State or other Federal Government organizations
