Design and Analysis Engineer 2
Job Description
The Design and Analysis Engineer 2 position is an onsite role based in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a 12-month contract with potential extension, supported by The Structures Company, a national aerospace and defense staffing agency. The role centers on developing and documenting electronic and electrical system requirements, hardware and software/interface specifications, and validating designs, with involvement in supplier performance and lifecycle support. Compensation is USD 60 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Creates and documents moderately complex requirements for electronic and electrical systems.
- Develops hardware specifications for these systems.
- Develops software specifications for these systems.
- Creates interface specifications to enable system integration.
- Tests and validates system designs to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements.
- Assists in monitoring supplier performance to guarantee system integration and conformance with requirements.
- Addresses issues with fielded hardware and software across the full product lifecycle.
- Investigates technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
- Utilizes knowledge of 1553 data bus and 429 data bus standards for system integration.
- Performs hardware auditing and related audit processes for quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
- Bachelor's degree with typically 2+ years of engineering experience, or a Master's degree with engineering experience; degree must be from an accredited program.
- Familiarity with configuration management processes.
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
- Familiarity with 1553 data bus standards.
- Familiarity with 429 data bus standards.
- Experience with hardware auditing or audit processes.
- Experience developing and documenting electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Experience designing hardware, software, and interface specifications.
- Experience testing and validating system designs.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance if required in the future.
