Design Engineer

Join a Carmel, Indiana based civil engineering firm in an onsite Design Engineer role that prioritizes collaboration, growth, and stability. You will contribute to transportation design within a small, engaged team, performing hands-on technical work and mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities

• Lead transportation design efforts while guiding and supporting junior engineers
• Develop preliminary and final design plans along with technical deliverables
• Contribute to projects involving roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction, intersections, traffic signal systems, roundabouts, drainage, and shared-use paths
• Apply INDOT, LPA, and AASHTO standards throughout all project phases
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Active Indiana PE license or ability to obtain licensure within six months
• 4–8 years of experience in transportation engineering
• Strong familiarity with INDOT standards, processes, and design criteria
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Comfortable joining ongoing projects and contributing with minimal onboarding
