Design Engineer
Job Description
Join a Carmel, Indiana based civil engineering firm in an onsite Design Engineer role that prioritizes collaboration, growth, and stability. Responsibilities
- Lead transportation design efforts while guiding and supporting junior engineers
- Develop preliminary and final design plans along with technical deliverables
- Contribute to projects involving roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction, intersections, traffic signal systems, roundabouts, drainage, and shared-use paths
- Apply INDOT, LPA, and AASHTO standards throughout all project phases
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Active Indiana PE license or ability to obtain licensure within six months
- 4–8 years of experience in transportation engineering
- Strong familiarity with INDOT standards, processes, and design criteria
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Comfortable joining ongoing projects and contributing with minimal onboarding
