Job Description

In this role at Scout Motors, the Design Release Engineer for the Secondary Controller and SW Release will coordinate software releases across multiple controllers and suppliers, lead hardware/software interface troubleshooting, and ensure hardware support for software milestones. This position is based onsite in Novi, Michigan, with a salary range of USD 110,000 to 135,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between hardware design release engineers, function owners, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate software release activities in collaboration with calibration teams.
  • Lead troubleshooting for hardware and software interface issues.
  • Ensure hardware teams provide timely support to align with software milestone timelines.
  • Identify program risks and escalate to leadership as needed to raise awareness and drive action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (required).
  • Proven experience coordinating software releases across multiple controllers and suppliers (required).
  • 4+ years of experience managing complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects, demonstrating successful progression from concept to production (required).
  • Experience with common project and program management tools (required).
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment with colleagues from purchasing, manufacturing, and related functions (required).
  • Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to cultivate collaborative working relationships (required).

Location and travel

This role is based at the Scout Motors facility in Novi, Michigan, and requires 4 to 5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Occasional travel to participate in company events is expected to support cross-site collaboration and program execution.
