Job Description

The Electrical Application Engineer and Project Coordinator role oversees multiple initiatives from award through fabrication, interprets electrical drawings and specifications, and collaborates with customers and internal teams to meet deadlines.

Summary

The role entails managing projects from award to fabrication, preparing engineering orders to specification, interpreting electrical drawings and specifications, and coordinating with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support colleagues in accurately interpreting wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and electrical specifications for the company’s manufactured products.
  • Coordinate all facets of a job, from order entry and MRP data to OE&I documentation and other required paperwork, ensuring complete processing.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor with internal and external customers.
  • Foster collaborative, trusting relationships with customers, sales reps, manufacturing reps, and engineers.
  • Process orders promptly and maintain clear communication between customers and Smith & Loveless.
  • Provide technical engineering support to determine equipment requirements, specifications, and supporting documents for the Sales Team, Representatives and Customers.
  • Collaborate with Customers, Representatives, Engineering, and CM&O groups on larger treatment projects as they progress through Engineering and Manufacturing to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the full company product line.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Keep the work area neat and clean.

Requirements

  • Electrical associate degree or electrical certification.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical job specifications and develop engineering specifications to build equipment on order.
  • Two years of experience developing engineering plans, drawings, or schematics, or two years of technical work in a related industry may satisfy the educational requirement.
  • Strong phone, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accountability.
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work quickly and accurately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
