Electrical Project Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Project Engineer at TechniPower, Inc. will own electrical design basis, technical compliance, and the execution of project activities from proposal through Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and final turnover. This is a temp to possible permanent role requiring on-site work in Crosby, TX.
Role Overview
This position focuses on establishing and maintaining the electrical design basis and ensuring technical compliance throughout delivery. The engineer also manages the contract, schedule, and job cost, ensuring the project progresses from proposal through FAT and final turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the electrical design basis and technical compliance for the assigned scope
- Own contract execution, schedule delivery, and job cost, driving the project from proposal through Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and final turnover
Required Qualifications
- BSEE preferred; a PE license is not required. Stamped deliverables are routed through a third-party registered Professional Engineer
- 7–10 years of combined experience in electrical equipment design (including PDCs, E-Houses, switchgear, or MCC packages) and project execution on EPC capital projects
- Minimum 2–4 years running or co-running direct contracts with a Tier 1 EPC, ideally including at least one completed capital project in LNG, midstream, power generation, or large data center work, with all documentation routing through a formal owner/EPC review cycle
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, or Wrike, AutoCAD Electrical, advanced Excel, Bluebeam, and Aconex / Oracle Unifier / SharePoint, along with ERP job costing knowledge
Power System & Protection Studies
- Ability to perform or review power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash incident energy
- Ability to derive relay settings from the EPC’s study
- Experience supporting site commissioning or resolving field issues remotely is strongly preferred
