Electrical Engineer

On-site role in Charlotte, NC with Perigon International supporting consulting engineering work for chemical and manufacturing facilities. This Senior Electrical Engineer position focuses on designing industrial electrical systems end to end, with opportunities to lead electrical deliverables, coordinate with project teams, and provide construction and client support.

What you’ll do

• Work through diverse, open-ended electrical design challenges for industrial facilities.
• Perform electrical system design and analysis with code compliance across the project lifecycle.
• Conduct field work to verify existing conditions.
• Complete electrical calculations including demand load, short circuit, device coordination, arc flash, and motor starting using SKM PowerTools.
• Serve as Lead Electrical Engineer and Responsible Charge Engineer on electrical system designs.
• Provide construction support, including review and input on equipment submittals.
• Interface with clients and contribute to development of Scopes of Work.

Key requirements

• Professional Engineering License required (PE license in NC and SC).
• BSEE required, including a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 5-10 years of relevant electrical design experience, including projects in the chemical and industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Proficiency with NFPA codes, with emphasis on NFPA 70 (NEC), 70E, 30, 497, and 499, along with applicable IEEE and UL standards.
• Proficiency with SKM PowerTools (including arc flash work).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with installation methods and materials of construction in a chemical process plant environment.
• Experience executing electrical projects on multi-discipline efforts.
• Experience with industrial plant environments and site safety practices.
• Ability to relocate: Charlotte, NC 28277 (relocate before starting work).

Compensation and role details

• Job type: Full-time
• Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 per year
• Work location: On-site at Perigon (in-person)
