Electrical Engineer (Hardware)

Nycor Technical is hiring a full-time, direct-hire Electrical Engineer II to support electromechanical system design in the West Metro Suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. This onsite role in Plymouth, MN focuses on translating requirements into technical architecture and detailed design, validating solutions through analysis and testing, and coordinating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer (Hardware) will develop and maintain electromechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. In larger initiatives, you may lead subsystem development; in smaller projects, you may support complete electrical system development. The position also includes technical leadership for junior engineers, designers, and drafters, along with ongoing engineering support to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electromechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager.
• Lead subsystem development within larger design efforts, or support complete electrical system development in smaller projects.
• Provide technical direction to junior engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Translate requirements into system architecture and detailed design.
• Determine feasibility for modifying existing equipment or designing new equipment, considering cost, schedule constraints, and other technical and economic factors.
• Validate designs through analysis and testing.
• Attend design review meetings and project management meetings.
• Provide engineering support to internal and external customers and perform other assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs, including control panel layouts, schematics, and power distribution such as 480V.
• Working knowledge of business software, including the MS Office suite.
• Experience with ERP software.
• Ability to collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions.
• Ability to lead design reviews with multi-disciplined, cross-functional team members.
• Ability to pass a drug screening and criminal background check.

Compensation and Location

Salary: USD 85,000 - 115,000 per year.
