Electrical Engineer [Hybrid]
Job Description
NEWCOMB & BOYD LLP offers a hybrid work opportunity in Durham, NC for an entry-level Electrical Engineer. This role supports the design, analysis, and implementation of MEP-T systems under close supervision, with hands-on exposure to Revit and project coordination. You will join a collaborative team that prioritizes mentorship, practical learning, and staying current with industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of MEP-T systems using Revit and discipline-specific modeling and calculation tools.
- Perform basic calculations and simulations under guidance.
- Assist in reviewing product submittals and shop drawings.
- Draft initial responses to RFIs for review by senior staff.
- Conduct site visits under supervision to assess project progress.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Participate in internal project meetings, providing technical support as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends and advances in MEP engineering.
- Complete assigned work within the project workplan timeframes.
- Submit work for review by senior engineers prior to client delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- EIT certification preferred or in progress.
- Familiarity with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and building systems.
