Electrical Engineer [Hybrid]

NEWCOMB & BOYD LLP offers a hybrid work opportunity in Durham, NC for an entry-level Electrical Engineer. This role supports the design, analysis, and implementation of MEP-T systems under close supervision, with hands-on exposure to Revit and project coordination. You will join a collaborative team that prioritizes mentorship, practical learning, and staying current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of MEP-T systems using Revit and discipline-specific modeling and calculation tools.
• Perform basic calculations and simulations under guidance.
• Assist in reviewing product submittals and shop drawings.
• Draft initial responses to RFIs for review by senior staff.
• Conduct site visits under supervision to assess project progress.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Participate in internal project meetings, providing technical support as needed.
• Stay current with industry trends and advances in MEP engineering.
• Complete assigned work within the project workplan timeframes.
• Submit work for review by senior engineers prior to client delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• EIT certification preferred or in progress.
• Familiarity with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and building systems.
