Job Description
Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Deterrent Systems team is hiring an Electrical Engineer / Principal Electrical Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. Join the Air Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Integration and Test (I&T) Lab Design and Integration team, where you will help shape lab-ready interconnect solutions, harness and cable designs, and test and measurement systems. Responsibilities
- Develop interconnect diagrams for the test line, test event, and hardware configurations
- Design and release multiple harness and cable designs to support lab testing
- Perform voltage drop analysis for electrical system suitability
- Provide support to Manufacturing, Procurement, Lab Integration and Test
- Design and implement Test and Measurement systems within a lab environment
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, currently within scope (< 6 years)
- Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Familiarity with cable and harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and AS50881
- Electrical Engineer: STEM bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or master’s degree with 0 years
- Principal Electrical Engineer: STEM bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience; or master’s degree with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year
- 1+ year experience using CAD design tools (e.g., NX, CATIA, Capital)
- 1+ year experience with cable and harness design, preferably following military and/or aviation standards

Salary: USD 79,300 - 147,600 per year.
Primary level salary range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00. Secondary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Preferred Qualifications
- Has been previously approved for Special Access Program (SAP)
- Electrical Engineering degree
- At least 1 year of experience with basic data signal types (e.g., MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, CAN)
- Experience with parts, materials and processes for electrical harness related to power distribution, communication and high-speed data signal applications, including manufacturing support
- Experience with Siemens Capital (AKA Mentor Capital) or similar E-CAD program
- Experience with design tools such as Microsoft Visio, RapidHarness, Capital, Teamcenter, etc.
- Experience creating a PDP or PDP-like PLM product
- Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM product
- Experience with wire gauge sizing, voltage drop analysis, and derating analysis
- Experience with electro-mechanical or instrumentation system development and design
- Experience with Data Acquisition and Instrumentation systems
- Experience with EMI/RF principles and their application to harness shielding
