Job Description
Join Essity in Bowling Green, KY (onsite) and help keep high-speed manufacturing running safely and efficiently. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will lead capital projects from concept through commissioning while partnering with operations to troubleshoot equipment, improve electrical controls, and support throughput and waste reduction.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage capital projects from concept through commissioning.
- Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Oversee installation, startup, and validation of new equipment.
- Own and maintain site electrical distribution systems.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for high-speed converting lines and packaging equipment.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, drives, and motion control systems.
- Optimize electrical controls to improve throughput and waste reduction.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and other applicable safety standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for operators and technicians.
- Develop and manage a control system obsolescence strategy.
Required qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of project engineering experience in manufacturing
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or ePlan
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi
- Working knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, and motion control
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Clear communication skills in verbal and written form
- Knowledge of machine vision systems and barcode readers
- Exposure to OPC, MES, and DDE would be a plus
- Strong knowledge of control systems and power distribution
