Job Description

Accelera seeks an Electrical Systems Design Engineer to lead the development of complex electrical architectures for off-highway vehicles and heavy equipment. The role ensures seamless hardware and software integration across the entire product lifecycle and is based onsite in Horicon, Wisconsin.

Compensation

USD 48 - 56 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Define and architect electrical system requirements, balancing hardware capabilities with software logic to meet performance targets.
  • Oversee the end-to-end release process for vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical components within production environments.
  • Maintain accurate bills of materials to support correct vehicle assembly and comprehensive system documentation.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to validate component feasibility and drive cross-disciplinary integration.
  • Provide hands-on technical support during prototype builds and development cycles to resolve integration challenges.
  • Lead cross-functional design reviews to verify reliability and achieve required performance standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing.
  • Proficiency in designing and testing wiring harnesses, schematics, and electrical components.
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software interaction within embedded systems.
  • Proven ability to own project deliverables and manage timelines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing.
  • Proficiency in designing and testing wiring harnesses, schematics, and electrical components.

  • Demonstrated ability to own project deliverables and manage timelines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in agriculture or off-highway vehicle development.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools for electrical system and harness routing.
  • Experience with embedded product validation, including SIL or HiL test stand environments.
  • Background in systems engineering practices and project management methodologies.
  • Experience mentoring peers or leading remote design and testing teams.
