Job Description

Electro mechanical component engineer delivering technical and sourcing support, component research, lifecycle management, risk assessments, datasheet review, regulatory/compliance guidance, ECO/MCO/PCN administration, supplier roadmaps, and Creo 3D CAD drawings to ensure sourceable parts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and sourcing support to design engineers.
  • Perform component research by collaborating with designers, manufacturers, and supply chain to identify components that meet performance, pricing, availability, and volume production needs.
  • Monitor and resolve lifecycle issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, supply chain, and design engineers to identify substitutes and advise on NPIs and sustaining products.
  • Provide Risk Ratings in Agile on Arista components based on single/multi-sourcing, lifecycle, quality issues, and component availability for high-volume production.
  • Review and compare component datasheets; determine impacts of voltage and timing specifications, software differences, and compatibility with leading edge manufacturing processes.
  • Apply knowledge of international and domestic agency requirements such as RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, Safety, EMI/EMC, and engage with impacted Arista groups when needed.
  • Administer ECO, MCO, and PCN in Agile and monitor progress from initiation to release.
  • Collaborate periodically with component suppliers to gain visibility into their technology roadmaps.
  • Draw using Creo 3D CAD and provide all critical functional dimensions to ensure parts are sourceable.
