Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with software, hardware, systems, and optical engineering teams to deliver fully integrated imaging solutions.
  • Develop and expand capabilities to design and integrate software tools and functions.
  • Create and maintain embedded Linux software for ARM-based SoCs powering real-time video pipelines.
  • Implement and optimize drivers, middleware, and APIs for Ethernet/PoE, HDMI, USB, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, and serial interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Assist with board bring-up, BSP customization, bootloader configuration, and AMP proprietary video pipeline software integration.
  • Coordinate with hardware teams to ensure cohesive system design.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of complex integration problems.
  • Document designs, develop test harnesses, and participate in structured design reviews.
  • Help define and execute system-level verification and validation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in imaging system design during customer engagements, proposals, and reviews.
  • Support the product lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring field-proven reliability and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with customers and product teams to define requirements and translate them into flow-down requirements for subsystems and developers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (PhD a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of embedded software/firmware development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with low-light imaging, NIR/IR systems, or high-performance CMOS sensor technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, and FPGA-based systems in real-time environments.
  • Proven hardware/software integration and debugging ability with industry-standard tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Track record of delivering reliable, optimized embedded solutions for power- and performance-constrained systems.
  • Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams within fast-paced settings.
