Engineer II - Protection & Control

Qualus is seeking an Engineer II - Protection & Control in Westborough, MA (onsite) with a salary range of USD 77,750 to 110,300 per year. The role focuses on developing protective relaying and SCADA packages, mentoring project team members, and guiding client meetings. Monthly travel to client worksites is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications, and bill of materials
• Develop SCADA packages with input/output lists and SCADA setting files
• Plan and execute research methodologies to apply electrical theory to engineering projects
• Provide training to project team members such as drafters, engineering technicians, and junior engineers
• Establish and maintain relationships with senior engineers, management, and clients
• Lead and participate in client meetings, including site visits to collect and deliver design data, and present technical solutions in response to concerns
• Ensure adherence to the company QA/QC processes on all design packages
• Delegate, plan, prioritize, and review work for other engineers
• Travel to client worksites as required, approximately once per month, with telecommuting permitted on non-travel days

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (electronics, industrial, mechanical); foreign degree equivalency accepted
• Minimum of 24 months of experience in protection and control engineering
• Travel to client worksites across the continental United States approximately once monthly; telecommuting allowed on non-travel days
