FCC Technology Software Engineer

Valley National Bank is looking for an FCC Technology Software Engineer to help maintain and enhance its Actimize-driven Financial Crimes Compliance tech stack in Morristown, New Jersey. This onsite role focuses on patching, enhancements, and Java plugin development to support the bank’s authentication and monitoring capabilities, with a clear expectation of hands-on contribution across the full software lifecycle. A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant financial services experience are required, with a salary range of USD 85,200 to 147,200 per year.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test Actimize patches applicable to SAM, CDD, CTR, AIS and ActOne as needed.
• Support Actimize customizations by building new AIS processes, SQL stored procedures, Java plugins for ActOne, and configuring ActOne Designer workflows.
• Develop functional and technical requirements for review by FCC business and technology stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other technology teams across the enterprise to align on direction and regulatory compliance.
• Assist FCC leadership with all aspects of design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Actimize solutions.
• Apply a solid understanding of available technologies and designs to propose process improvements.
• Maintain and improve Java plugins using static and dynamic analysis, security scans, code coverage, and CI/CD gating.
• Participate in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle from analysis through production support.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related technical field, with a minimum of five years of experience in the financial services sector across Anti-Money Laundering, Currency Transaction Reporting, Name/Message Screening, and Fraud.
• At least three years of end-to-end Actimize SAM, CDD, and CTR solution implementation experience, including gathering business requirements, defining technical design, installation and upgrade, test case creation and execution, and production deployment.
• Experience designing and tuning AML scenarios, including data profiling, quality analysis, and monthly transaction statistics used for baseline thresholds.
• Experience with data integration through real-time (MQ, Web Services) or batch (ETL) methods with source systems such as Miser, ACH Plus, and Pay Plus.
• Experience with change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
• Experience writing functional and technical design requirements.
