FLEX Associate Software Engineer - CDP

Marriott International is seeking a FLEX Associate Software Engineer to contribute to the Real-Time Customer Data Platform, working in a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD. This position focuses on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing real-time data integration with Marriott’s digital products, collaborating with senior engineers on data integration, platform configuration, and ongoing operational support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Digital Data Collection and Real-Time Personalization team to implement and maintain web event instrumentation that supports real-time use cases such as personalization, audience qualification, and measurement.
• Provide technical specifications and assist in validating Adobe Launch tag properties and deployments, covering rules, data elements, extensions, environments, and publishing workflows.
• Support the implementation and validation of Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK event payloads in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Contribute to instrumentation patterns that enable low-latency decisioning and personalization, capturing user actions and context at the appropriate moments and ensuring events are dispatched early enough to support same or next-page experiences and prevent race conditions.
• Partner with product teams to integrate data collection into feature releases, ensuring personalization requirements are met without compromising performance.
• Perform QA in lower environments and conduct production validation using browser tools and platform debugging utilities.
• Create and maintain lightweight automated checks or test scripts where appropriate, such as validating network calls, payload structures, and expected events.
• Build expertise in the Adobe ecosystem and internal standards through pairing, training, and hands-on delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Web Development, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a related technical field, including internships or academic projects.
• Foundational knowledge of REST APIs, JSON payloads, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of data structures, event-driven architectures, and real-time integration concepts.
