Job Description

As a Front-End Software Engineer, you will design and develop complex new software products and significant enhancements. You will build modular, reusable components using a modern front-end framework, contribute to design and code reviews, and help keep existing systems running through maintenance, support, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Build reusable front-end components that align with established system design patterns.
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Participate in team design discussions and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with a small team of engineers and designers to understand business requirements and user experience goals.
  • Recommend continuous improvement opportunities based on development and operational learnings.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing systems and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for software and application issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph (Top Secret SCI + Polygraph).
  • Experience: 8 to 10 years of related software development experience (8+ years may vary based on training, certifications, or degree).
  • Extensive experience with Angular.
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience designing complex search interfaces.
  • Experience optimizing web applications for performance and usability.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs.
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with SASS or LESS.
  • Hands-on experience with NodeJS and MongoDB.
  • Familiarity constructing ElasticSearch queries.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.

Salary and Location

Likely salary range: $140,821 - $190,523 per year.

Location: Chantilly, Virginia (Onsite Workplace). Travel required: None.
