Full Stack Python / AWS Lead Software Engineer

This onsite, Jersey City, NJ role offers a competitive annual salary of USD 152,000 to 215,000 and a benefits package designed to support health, growth, and financial security. You will join the Asset and Wealth Management Technology Team's Acceleration Lab to build cloud‑native, microservices‑based applications and advance AI assisted engineering practices to raise code quality, accelerate delivery, and strengthen operational resilience.

What you will do

• Invent and troubleshoot software solutions, applying non standard approaches to complex problems
• Deliver end‑to‑end cloud native microservices based applications using modern technologies and industry best practices
• Use domain modeling to create clear, testable, evolvable business products
• Produce secure, high quality production code and review peers' work
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation to improve software stability
• Lead communities of practice to promote new and leading edge technologies

• Investigate and resolve issues promptly and keep patterns and technologies up to date
• Design architectures that avoid single points of failure and support scalable performance

What we require

• Formal training or certification in software engineering plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Back end proficiency with Python, Flask, Django and experience building microservices; front end skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React or Angular
• Ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and JSON
• Hands-on experience designing and building scalable applications using SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum) and a solid understanding of the software development life cycle
• Understanding of application resiliency
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery; deep knowledge of SDLC, with advanced understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Experience leading the effective use of enterprise authorized AI assisted development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, resiliency, and security; experience coaching senior engineers on compliant usage patterns
• Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (cloud, AI, ML, mobility, etc.)
