Job Description

Asylon is building out its Philadelphia-area engineering team and needs a full stack software engineer to serve as the primary developer for DroneIQ. DroneIQ is the web application used to manage and interact with DroneCore deployments, and this role includes ownership of features from the user interface through backend services.

This position is onsite in Norristown, PA, supporting a product that connects operators with dashboards, alerts, geofencing, video playback, and mission management.

Role focus

  • Design, build, and maintain full stack features across the Vue frontend and backend services for DroneIQ
  • Develop and improve user-facing workflows including dashboards, alerting, geofence management, video playback, and mission planning interfaces
  • Build and maintain REST APIs that support the frontend and integrate with robotics and data systems
  • Collaborate with robotics and infrastructure engineers to surface real-time telemetry, video, and sensor data in the application
  • Create visualizations that turn complex robotic telemetry, 3D spatial data, and media stored in S3 into actionable insights for security operators
  • Improve performance, reliability, and user experience based on customer feedback and operational needs
  • Support backend services and infrastructure work beyond the application layer as priorities shift
  • Participate in code review, testing, and CI/CD practices to maintain code quality

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency with a modern frontend framework such as Vue, Angular, or React
  • Experience building and maintaining backend services in Python, Go, or Java
  • Comfort designing and consuming REST APIs
  • Proficiency with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Proficiency with Linux as a development environment
  • Ability to own features end-to-end from UI through backend and database

  • Experience with geospatial data or mapping libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox, Cesium, or similar)
  • Experience with 3D visualization in the browser (Three.js, WebGL, or similar)
  • Experience with Redis for caching, pub/sub, or session management
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
  • Has worked on products used by non-technical end users and cares about usability
  • Experience with Rust

  • Salary: USD 115,000 - 160,000 per year
