Job Description

NorthernBase Technologies seeks a Gen AI Engineer to build and improve AI-enabled workflows, apply prompt engineering practices, and support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of AI models across environments, including Production. The position is based onsite in Irving, TX.

Role Overview

This role centers on delivering practical generative AI capabilities through Python-based development, prompt engineering, and the operational support needed to run AI models reliably. The work includes development activities such as code review, testing, and documentation, along with continuous learning in generative AI related domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop AI workflow solutions
  • Perform prompt engineering
  • Deploy and maintain AI models across all environments, including Production
  • Conduct code review, testing, and documentation
  • Stay current with generative AI learning and related advancements

Requirements

  • Strong, hands-on Python knowledge
  • Hands-on experience developing API components in Python using FastAPI or Flask frameworks
  • Working experience with data processing and AI-enabled workflows using Python
  • Knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architecture, and agentic AI
  • Basic knowledge of hybrid prompting techniques
  • Knowledge of generative AI tools including LangChain, Hugging Face, and Llama Index

Compensation and Experience

Salary: USD 100,000 - 130,000 per year.

Experience: Minimum 8 years (noted range: 8–15 years).
