Job Description
The Global IT Software Engineer Manager role at Boston Consulting Group in Atlanta, GA focuses on designing, developing, and delivering robust, scalable solutions for Finance and Procurement initiatives within an Agile squad, while contributing as a hands-on technical practitioner and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust, scalable, high-performing solutions to support Finance and Procurement initiatives, with emphasis on custom-built applications.
- Operate as a hands-on contributor within an Agile squad, guiding activities from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and business partners to translate requirements into effective technology solutions.
- Provide oversight for operational support, troubleshoot production issues, drive continuous improvement, ensure stability and performance, and participate in related technical and operational activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of five years of software development experience delivering production-grade applications.
- Proficiency with a modern stack including C#, .NET, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React, plus solid SQL, HTML5, and CSS fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of Python, or willingness to ramp quickly, given its central role in AI and ML tooling; this is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of modern application architectures (microservices, API-first, single-page apps) and core design patterns (MVC, CQRS, Repository).
- Experience building or integrating AI-powered features using large language model APIs (e.g., Claude, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) for conversational interfaces, summarization, or intelligent search.
- Experience designing agent-based systems involving multi-step reasoning, tool calling, and orchestration using frameworks like LangChain/LangGraph or provider SDKs; familiarity with RAG and context management.
- Comfort working in an AI-augmented development environment, leveraging agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex, with ability to critically evaluate AI output.
- Experience with Azure or AWS; familiarity with cloud AI/ML services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) is a strong plus.
- Experience with cloud-based financial or operations platforms, including APIs, integrations, single sign-on, and data visualization.
- Strong ability to write requirements (agile user stories and traditional formats), create clear documentation, and demo work to clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written, including presentations to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with financial applications is preferred.

Additional information
This role follows the US compensation transparency approach. The base salary ranges from $121,000 to $156,500, depending on regional cost factors. Total compensation includes base pay, an annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contributions, and a market leading benefits package. In addition to base pay, a bonus of up to 16 percent may be awarded, and retirement contributions start at 5 percent and rise to 10 percent after two years. Base ranges are reviewed periodically to remain market-competitive.
